Write your Member of Parliament
The Cannabis Act, Bill C-45, is working its way through Parliament. Contact your M.P. and ask them to ensure Canada’s craft growers are included in legalization.
Contact your MLA
Although cannabis production is regulated by the federal government, provinces are in the process of setting up distribution models that may make it impossible for craft growers to participate. Write to your MLA and insist that any distribution and retail model leaves room for craft growers. Also, remind them that their provincial government should go to bat for growers if Ottawa’s upcoming regulations freeze out small producers.
Letters to the Editor
With legalization looming, there’s a plethora of cannabis articles appearing in newspapers and magazines across the country. Add to the national conversation by writing letters in response to some of the articles, especially if they relate to cannabis production.
